Happy Halloween!

After a busy morning visiting some of Mommy's coworkers and admiring all of the cool kid costumes at school, Kyle and I went home for a quick breather before heading back out for an even busier night of trick-or-treating at Boo and Dzia's, Grandma and Grandpa A's, and Grandma and Grandpa P's. Needless to say, our little giraffe is wiped out!

Happy Halloween, Everyone!

WHO's Knocking on Kyle Steven's Door?!

Thanks for the cute Halloween window decals, Grandma P. I had fun decorating my door with Mommy.

Sunday Funday

Last Sunday, I snuck out for a few hours and headed to the jewelry show in Rosemont with my mom. Though we were pressed for time, we both found a few good finds - a couple of sparkly necklaces for me, a few pairs of dress socks for Chris, etc. When I returned home, I found both of my boys pretty much wiped out on the couch (see below). After a quick feeding, we packed up the car again and went off to celebrate cousin Ian's Baptism day (which also happened to coincide with another Bears' victory!). Sadly, we forgot our camera at home and have no pictures of the wonderful event, except for this one with Grandpa from Chris's phone. Congrats, Ian :)

BOO!

Thanks for the awesome BOO socks Auntie Jan.
Makin' my Super Boosh proud :)

Remembering Uncle Danny

Last Friday - October 26th - we said goodbye to Great Uncle Danny. If the sun was shining in Chicago (check out the proof below), it must have been a million times brighter in Heaven. Kyle's smiling up at you!

Pumpkins in the Park 5K

Saturday night, Chris and I dropped off Kyle at Grandma and Grandpa P's, then headed back downtown to run the 13th annual Pumpkins in the Park 5K - Chicago's Official Halloween race for the whole family! Due to some miscalculations on our part, and some crazy traffic on Chicago's, we were nearly 20 minutes late. The last to start, but not the last to finish! Impressive, huh? We averaged roughly a 10 minute mile pace, which is actually a little bit faster than our typical post-Kyle speed. All 5K participants enjoyed a winding course with 3 "Fear Zones" through beautiful Lincoln Park then celebrated at the post-race party, which included food and drink, a Movie in the Park featuring the 1984 classic "Ghostbusters", and costume contests for:
  • Best Original Costume
  • Best Zombie Costume
  • Best Dead Celebrity Costume
Even though everyone seemed to love our costumes, Chris refused to enter the contest ;( Nevertheless, there was a full moon in the sky, warm fires burning throughout the park, and lots of energized people, genuinely excited for Halloween.

Halloween Craft Party!

This morning we packed up our little giraffe and headed downtown for a Halloween Craft Party hosted by Heidi, Elin, and J.D. All of Kyle's favorite little friends were there, dressed up in their Halloween finest. Everyone couldn't have been more excited about pumpkins, crafts, and candy!
