Yesterday was my 38 week check-up. As usual, I was in and out in of the hospital within 10 minutes. The doctor checked Chickie's heartbeat (a strong 140 bpm) and confirmed that he/she is still head down. This is the first time that she also checked to see how dilated I was. After what must have been the most painful minute of my life - at least for the time being - the doctor told me that I'm still at a big fat ZERO, meaning it looks like Chickie is cooperating with Mommy, and I'll most likely be able to make it through the rest of the school year! Even though we still have a week left of school, it sure seems as though the year ended with Memorial Day weekend. Between all of the end of the year celebrations, I must have scarfed down two slices of pizza, an equal amount of cake (at least), and my regular balanced lunch. No wonder Chickie's been kicking like crazy all day long. Either Chickie's on a major sugar high, or he/she wants out. BIG TIME :)
Looks like salads for dinner at the Alp house ...
