4 Shots for Kyle's 4 Month Check-Up
This morning was Kyle's 4 month check-up. Everything went very well. He seems to be growing by the day and is now weighing in at 15 pounds 10.5 ounces (50th percentile) and measuring 26 inches (close to the 90th percentile). While we were there Kyle rolled over twice, held on tight to the doc's stethoscope, drooled all over the table, and took 4 shots in the thigh like a champ! Unlike at his two month visit, Kyle cried, but wasn't really hysterical. He pushed back his tears as soon as Mommy picked him up and gave him a little squeeze ;). Daddy came with us this time for support, and the three of us celebrated Kyle's good growth report with jumbo hot dogs and cheese fries at Portillos. Poor little Ky slept the whole time, Screamers ghost doll tightly nestled under his arm. We lovingly joked that maybe all we have to do is give him a couple of shots if we want to go out to eat instead of worrying about a babysitter ;) The doctor also said that Kyle is so strong/alert/big/whathaveyou that he is probably more than ready to start solid food - things like rice cereal or oatmeal. I'm a little nervous about starting this new phase, so we might hold off a few more weeks while we read up on all the literature she gave us.
