9 Month Check-Up!

Chris and I both took off work this morning to take Kyle to his 9 month check-up. Ky was all smiles and giggles, as usual. His doctor even called him "such a little flirt". Even when he had his final hepatitis shot, he only shed a few tears before going back to his natural, happy self. Kyle clapped for the doctor (apparently this is a one year skill, so he is way ahead of the game there!), crawled around the table, and let her know just how active he really is. Kyle's high level of activity may be one of the reasons why his weight gain has dropped off a little. At 17 lbs 6.5 oz, he's a skinny mini! In fact, Ky has really only gained a little over a pound in the past three months, dropping him slightly from 75th to 50th percentile for weight. Not a concern for the doctor, but a slight concern for Mommy and Daddy. We just hope we are feeding him enough food. He doesn't seem to complain of hunger. Our doctor just said to keep introducing him to more and more "real people foods" so that he keeps getting used to different textures and tastes and is not a picky eater later on. She suggested anything from waffles, bread, and cheerios to noddles and cheese. Kyle has also only grown an inch or so since his last appointment in December. He is now measuring in at 28 inches, dropping him to the 50th percentile for height, as well. Well, at 50/50 for height and weight, I guess our Kyle is a pretty average American boy. We're so proud of him ;)
