Sean and Kelly's Baby Shower

This afternoon was my cousin Sean's baby shower at a nice, neighborhood golf course. The theme: Vintage Winnie the Pooh. The menu: Brunch. The agenda: Lots of fun with family ;)

Katie and Brian's Wedding Shower BBQ

Saturday night Chris and I attended my good friend's wedding shower BBQ while Kyle spent the night and Grammy and Grandpa's. We had a wonderful time catching up with Katie, who has lived in Pennsylvania for the past five years. This house at the perfect back yard for a summer time bbq. Lovely garden, waterfall, and patio area. Katie's sister also hired a photo booth guy to come, so we had fun taking different silly pictures with the different props he brought.

Thursday night was Open House night for the 1st and 2nd graders (and their parents) at my school. It was a long night for me, but a fun night for Ky and Daddy. They found his cool new Superman pjs ;)

Tara and Matt's Baby Shower

Chris's best friend Matt is expecting his first child this June - a daughter to be named Emma Rose. Matt and Tara were in town from DC to celebrate their baby shower with friends and family. One of the games we played was a baby modeling contest where every guest was given a mini tub of play dough and asked to construct a baby out of it. They also served yummy tea party finger foods and delicious chocolate covered strawberries from Mariannos.While Gramma A and I were at the shower, Chris and Kyle went to the park and had a bath. That's my smiley boy ;)

Storybook Shower

Last Sunday, May 6th, my wonderful friends - erin and Amy - threw an amazing, storybook themed shower for Chickie and I, attended by all of our closest sorority sisters. Professional party planners don't even come close to matching up to what these two creative geniuses are capable of. All of the decorations were handcrafted from old children's book text and illustrations. Each entree was inspired by a well-known tale (i.e. Clifford's Puppy Chow; Strega Nona's Spaghetti and Meatballs; etc.), the names of which were classically displayed on mini-chalkboards - my new favorite trend in party decor! After lunch, we grouped off into teams of 3-4 and put our storybook trivia skills to the test. Some questions were definitely hard, others easy, but all loads of fun to guess. Chickie felt so lucky to receive some special new books from some special old friends. The books focused on a range of pretty serious topics from barnyard animals to critters under the sea, from colors to numbers, from poetry to nursery rhymes, and so forth. Much thanks to erin, Amy, Liz, Lauren, Christina, Heather, Katie, Colleen, Angela, and Caryn!! You are all amazing, and I've very grateful for our friendship.
