Lincoln Park Zoo

3 Crazy Animals take on the Madison Zoo

Friday, Kyle, Erik, and I drove to Madison to meet my friends Liz (and her kids Thomas and Abby), and Amy for an afternoon lunch and zoo trip. It's always good to see them. Wish they lived closer.

July 3rd at the Zoo

Last Friday, we left home early and arrived at the zoo before 10am. Got a free parking spot, saw a little seal show, watched some hippos, fish, and giraffes doing their thing, and played at the park before coming home for lunch. Beat the crowd and the heat.

Zoo Race 2015

Sunday we met Erin and Amy at Lincoln Park Zoo for our 3rd or 4th annual Zoo Race. Unfortunately, around mile 2 there was a complete downpour. We got totally drenched and ended up running to the car instead of getting to hang out and enjoy the zoo longer. Hopefully we'll have better luck next year!

Lincoln Park Zoo Lights!

Saturday night we met some of my sorority friends, and some of their sons, at the Lincoln Park Zoo Lights. The weather was absolutely perfect, which meant one thing: LOTS and LOTS of TRAFFIC. It took us about an hour to drive down there, and after another 30 minutes of looking for parking on the street, and at the lot, a car randomly pulled out in front of us smack dab in front of the zoo's main entrance. How lucky were we??? From then on, the night seemed like a success. We weren't in any kind of rush to leave since we had the perfect free spot right out front. Kyle seemed to enjoy "all the pretty lights". While we were waiting for Chris to grab us dinner in the cafe, Kyle and I passed the time by taking silly selfies of ourselves with my phone :) What a character :)

Many mornings we pull out our materials and begin building giant castles for our zoo animals, dinosaurs, or loveable Toy Story characters rights after breakfast. Check out our latest creation.

Zoo Race!

This past Sunday was the second year in a row that Chris and I ran the 5K Lincoln Park Zoo race with our good friends Amy and Erin. We finished in under 30 minutes. Amy and Erin joined us about a half hour after that (they walked most of it!), and then the four of us went out to brunch - our favorite part of the race :) Last year it rained during the race, and everyone was dodging puddles. This year we couldn't have asked for better weather. What a beautiful morning to run around the lake front.

Monkeying Around!

Last Saturday, we took Kyle to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Although he was aware of the animals this year, and seemed to like them enough, Kyle absolutely loved running around the park, literally. He was a non-stop powerhouse from the time we got there to the time we left. While there, Chris and I picked up our race t-shirts for the following Sunday, We were gearing up to participate in our second annual Zoo Run.
