Ky's First Visit to Mickey's!

On Tuesday, all 5 of us headed back to the Magic Kingdom. Again they predicted thunderstorms and again it was such a beautiful (albeit hot) day. Ky's first stop: meeting his pal Pluto ;) Auntie K got Kyle a Disney autograph book for his birthday so we tried to greet as many characters as possible. His first ride - "It's a Small World" - was pretty much a hit overall. Despite his squirmy-worminess, Kyle seemed to enjoy all the music, toys, and lights. He kept pointing and smiling at things. We're pretty sure he would have jumped ship to go play with those toys if we let him ;) Kyle also went on Peter Pan (this time, with a Fastpass), Prince Charming's Carousel, the Winnie the Pooh ride, Under the Sea (a truly amazing new Little Mermaid ride ... loved it), and a few others. We bought him a water spritzing fan to keep cool, and our tech savvy one-year-old figured out how to work the thing in no time. The five of us had a really delicious lunch at the new Be Our Guest restaurant in New Fantasyland. I tried to get reservations online beforehand, but apparently there is a 180 day waiting list for dinner reservations so that was a big NOT GONNA HAPPEN. Luckily, when we walked by to check it out, they don't take lunch reservations, so we waited in line for a quick 20 minutes and in we went ;)

A Magical Monday

On Monday, Chris and I went to visit the Magic Kingdom by ourselves while Kyle hung out by the pool with Grammy and Grandpa. Even though they predicted thunder storms, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. The castle - the centerpiece of the park - is a lot to take in. Even my almost 30 year-old eyes couldn't get enough of it. We hit up all the major roller coasters first - minus Space Mountain (it was shut down) and then started going on some smaller rides. After waiting in line for Peter Pan for an hour and a half, we finally learned about the magic of Fastpass (where you get passes to major attractions ahead of time and bypass the crazy wait time) and started planning the rest of our adventure around those.

Orlando Bound!

Last Sunday, June 23rd, Grammy, Grandpa, Kyle, Chris, and I packed our bags and boarded an airplane to sunny (or in our case, rainy) Orlando. When we arrived there were a few summer showers, but they cleared up just in time for our week of fun to start.

Kyle did very well on his first ever airplane ride. He bounced around on our laps for half the ride, and slept on Daddy the other half ;) Such a quick flight. Why not do it again? ;)
