Pirate's Cove

This morning we checked out the Pirate's Cove Children's Amusement Park. Cute, cute, cute. I think the perfect age for this place is 3 - 6, so we'll definitely be back for future visits. Although Kyle was still too little do do many of the activities on his own, he did enjoy playing on the playground, sliding down the giant slide, and going on a train ride. Fun, fun, fun!

Double Pool Day!

Wednesday was Kyle's last swim class for the summer! He was so happy that his Daddy was off work this week and was able to join in on the fun (fall classes start up again mid September). After class, we stayed in our suits and headed over to the outdoor wading pool across the street. We got there pretty much right when the pool opened (perfect timing for once!) and were able to grab a few lawn chairs under the giant umbrella. Kyle enjoyed splashing around, going down the slide, and sharing his cool toys with a couple other kids. Great morning :)

While we were away at Lake Como, my cousin Sean welcomed a new baby girl into the world, 4 weeks early! Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Kyle can't wait to meet his new cousin!

Lake Como

I've been to Lake Como, Italy (George Clooney's digs) and loved it, and now I've been to Lake Como, WI and loved it, as well. Last Sunday we crossed the border to spend a few days with Nana, Buppa, and Auntie Donna (Ky's still working on saying Donna versus Nana). On Sunday we went on a nice boat tour of all of the beautiful homes along Lake Geneva (some of the properties even belonged to the Wrigley family), and on Monday we enjoyed a cute bird show and hike around an outdoor petting zoo. Unfortunately, just as Kyle went to bed on Monday night and we got a nice fire going, BAM came the rain! Luckily, the home we were staying at had a covered front porch, so we were still able to sit out for a bit before turning in for the night. Kyle also had some fun at a nearby park and riding some quarter machines at the zoo. Check out our adventures!

Ky's First L :(

Up until last Saturday, Kyle was undefeated at the ballpark - or at least the Cubs had managed to pull off 2 wins on the 2 days we just happened to be at Wrigley this season. Despite the lost, they were giving out free bobbleheads to the first 1,000 or so fans. We were late, but the nice Dad sitting next to us gave Kyle his. Actually, people were incredible nice to us all day long. Another guy gave up his seats at the pizza place for us. Other people gave up their seats on the Red Line. Sometimes it sure pays to have a cute kid.

A New Home for GG

Last Friday Kyle and I visited my Gramma at the Danish Home. She recently moved to a room on the first floor with a million dollar view of the outdoor garden/courtyard. GG was so excited that Kyle was there, so much so, that she couldn't help dialing Grandpa and Auntie Robo to let them know that "the baby" was over.  Kyle just liked pressing all the buttons while GG was on the phone ;)
