Star Wars!

Kyle loves reading his Star Wars phonics books. Even though we have read "How to Be a Jedi" at least a million and one times, he just started laughing and saying, "Yoda fighting Grandpa!" on the page where Yoda is having a light saber battle against Count Dooku. (I think it might be the white hair?) :)

Jump Zone with Auntie Sarah!

Last Tuesday started off pretty cloudy, so instead of going to the pool, I promised Kyle that we could go hang out at the Jump Zone during their open play time. The only challenge is that Jump Zone has become increasingly more difficult for me to maneuver, the further along I get in my pregnancy. Therefore, I decided to call in back-ups. My cousin Sarah came to my rescue and met us for two hours of open play. After bouncing around with Sarah, we met Boo and Auntie Karen for lunch at the Olive Garden, and like any typical American, Kyle is OBSESSED with their bread sticks.

Outdoor Picnics

Kyle received a cool picnic table for his birthday from Nana and Buppa, and we finally got around to putting it together last week. Kyle loves it, especially the umbrella, although we do have to remind him that "WE DON'T CLIMB ON TABLES!" He likes to do a little coloring in his Winnie the Pooh coloring book and then have his snacks while chilling in the shade.

2 Year Doctor's Visit

Last Monday, April 3rd was Kyle's 2 year old check-up. Beforehand I treated him to some playtime at the new tunnel playground at Old Orchard (I had to buy a few birthday/shower/bachelorette gifts) followed by lunch at McDonald's. Kyle's doctor had some good news to report. Everything looks great! He's over the 97th percentile for height (tall boy!) and around the 71st for weight (30 lbs). Kyle's teeth are coming in nicely. We can even add him to our dental insurance this year. She recommended upgrading to the family insurance plan more as a protective measure since he seems like a very active, fearless little boy. Kyle impressed her with a little rendition of the ABCs, and that he remembered and was able to discuss what the fish looked like in the office lobby. Next wellness visit = 3 years old! Hopefully Kyle stays healthy, and we only need to return with Peanut Butter until that time.

Happy 1st Birthday, Cousin Reagan!

On Sunday, August 3rd, we celebrated Kyle's cousin Reagan's 1st birthday at the Centennial Beach Pool in Naperville. Good weather. Good food (pulled bbq pork, corn on the cob). Good fun splashing around with Auntie Sarah in the beach/pool.

1st Gold Medal!

Last Saturday, August 2nd, Kyle earned his first gold medal for all his hard work in his basketball/football/dodgeball/hockey class. So far, his favorite sport is basketball. He loves to "shoot them baskets" and gets really excited about running down the court to another basketball hoop.
