Happy 92nd Birthday, Gramma!

Tuesday would have been my Gramma's 92nd birthday, had she not passed away last summer. I think of my Gramma everyday, and am usually okay with that, but for some reason, every time I thought of her on her birthday, I couldn't help but cry. I still can't believe she's gone. I wish she could be back in her 70s again and come over every day this summer to play with the boys (and me).

Sarah and John's Couples Shower

Sunday night, we rushed home from the game, dropped the boys at Mimi and Grandpa's, and hurried off to Schaumburg for Sarah and John's couples shower, hosted by John's family. The event was incredibly nice, and we both felt very underdressed (especially Chris who arrived in a Cubs hat, cargo shorts, and gym shoes while most of the guys were in dress pants and ties ... ooops!). We had no idea that this would be such a formal event, but we had a great time. The food was delicious - chicken, salmon, mashed potatoes, green beans, cake shots, and chocolate covered pretzel sticks - yum :)

Erik's 1st Cubs Game 5-17-15

Weathermen all across Chicago predicted nothing but thunderstorms and lightening for Sunday afternoon and evening. Boy were they wrong. Every single one of them. We were so worried about the reportedly severe rainstorms that we almost didn't go. I'm sure glad we did. It turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day, and the boys did really well. Kyle loved his hot dog, as usual, and he only needed to watch two 20 minute episodes of Mickey to keep his attention and behavior in check. Erik enjoyed a bottle and seemed to get a kick out of watching all the cheering fans around him.

Sweet Erik is 5 Months!

Just give me some peas, please!

Last Saturday, after a successful week of carrots, Erik started on peas. He seems to be a good eater in general, and has had no problem taking them down. Next up: sweet potatoes :)
