Training for World Cup 2030?

Well ......... not exactly. Kyle started 2-3 year old soccer 2 weeks ago, and while his skills are definitely improving, his attention span and behavior, is well, not exactly gaining much momentum. At his first practice he really did not kick the ball once, preferring to throw the ball (albeit the soccer throw in way which was good) and run, in no particular direction or as the result of any particular direction from the coach (he wins the gold medal for most energy on the team). Many of the 3 year-olds are really almost 4 year-olds, and since Kyle literally just turned 2, that makes many of the kids almost twice his age. I have to keep reminding myself of that when they follow directions and listen to what the coach asks them to do. Today Kyle made some progress in that he did participate in a good 15 minutes of kicking the ball to me, and running to the ball and kicking it. After that, his attention span apparently had enough. He spent the remaining half hour not paying any attention to the teacher, running around the gym while saying "listen to the teacher", and picking up other kids goal cones and balls. Nice. Let's just say Mommy got her work out. Again. Well he does talk about soccer when we get home, and he likes practicing with Chris one on one in the basement, so we're going to keep at it!
